Lucille

We had to say goodbye to our sweet Lucille Saturday April 8th after having her for a short 10 years.

We got Lucille when she was only 5 weeks old and she was the cutest ball of grey fur with the most beautiful green eyes. She loved to be held like a baby and would always roll over for a tummy rub. She was the happiest when she was wrapped in a blanket and snuggled with her mom.

Lucille loved her breakfast and her greenies. She would squint her pretty green eyes and let out the softest meow to let us know what she wanted.

We changed the lyrics to the Kenny Rogers song Lucille and sang it to her every day, she would come running and jump up on us when she heard us singing it. That’s the song we sang to her when she was crossing the rainbow bridge. The song went like this “you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille, four hundred greenies and the mouses in the field, you picked a fine time to leave me Lucille.

How will we live without you sweet baby, our house is so empty without you and our hearts are shattered into a million pieces. You were not just a pet, but our child and a big part of our family.

You were my favorite hello and my hardest goodbye.

Awe that is so sweet having a little tribute to Lucille. I never met this pretty girl, but can tell she was a very good baby and so very loved by you both. My heart goes out to you. Don’t worry, I bet she’s already playing with the “mices” in a big beautiful field up there somewhere over the rainbow bridge. 💙💙💙
